Hudson's 2nd Birthday!

Hudson LOVES all things that go (I'm sure like every boy). But he holds a special place in his heart for tractors! In celebration of our favorite little man we had a tractor party. I really never thought I would get excited about John Deere, but it was actually a fun party to plan and an even more fun party to attend. Hudson and Avery Reese had a blast. The weather was perfect for an outside party complete with pony rides, a duck pond and hay bales. Hudson is blessed with wonderful grandparents and aunts/uncles who all made a special effort to attend his party. The party was perfect!

Happy Birthday Hudson Parker!!

Grandma and Grandpa got him "Dusty" the horse; that smile says it all!

 John Deere tractor cupcakes

The food table was complete with hay bales (rice krispies), pig pen (pigs in a blanket), tractor wheels (oreos), chicken feed (trail mix) and cow patties (meatballs) to name a few

Hay bale horse photo booth was a favorite with kids and adults

 Playing in the duck pond

 Pinata fun!

 Pony races

 Priceless!

The backyard looked so cute! Stick pony rides, 4-Legged Tattoos, Hay bale photos, Duck pond, farm themed coloring pages and Barnyard toss. The kids had so much fun!

Brad and I bought Hudson a Lightening McQueen 4-wheeler (he needs some practice steering)

We Love You Hudson!!

Happy Fall Y'all

Fall is my FAVORITE season!! The cooler temps, the lovely leaves, pumpkins, football and all 4 of the Miles' birthdays. This past weekend we visited my parents and went to a great pumpkin patch with my family. They had a corn maze, tractor rides, pony rides, petting zoo, pumpkins and pig races. I'm not sure who had more fun the kids or the adults.

The kids got to pet 2 day old piglets (they still had their umbilical cords). They were so adorable!

Feeding the goats; they were very eager

Fun in the corn pit

Awww! What a wonderful time of year!

First Day of School

Avery Reese began Pre-K this month at Little Rock Christian Academy. We are all so excited about this new adventure for her and our family. LRCA not only provides the education we want but also the Christ centered environment we desire for Avery Reese. In just a week's time, we are noticing the big differences between public school to a Bible centered private school. Avery Reese comes home singing  new songs about Jesus and talks about praying for others. We are so excited for what God has planned for us and our journey with LRCA.

 Hudson couldn't resist being photographed

Coloring in her new classroom

Both kids were about done with photos at this point

She was so excited to see us in the pick-up line!!

Avery Reese was too shy to get a photo with her teacher,  Mrs. Williams on the first day.

Cancun, Baby!

Brad and I are so excited to have celebrated 10 years of married bliss this past May! Brad is an amazing husband and great father. We have definitely had our downs (careers, Hudson's illnesses, etc), but we have had many more ups. Marriage is no joke; its a full time job. But I wouldn't want to be in this business with any one other than Brad. God has been a pillar in our relationship and I give him full credit for our marriage.

Since the arrival of Avery Reese and Hudson, Brad and I have slacked on our promise to one another to have a vacation every year. Don't get me wrong, we have had some weekend getaways, but no real time away together. Well, with a HUGE thanks to our parents, we spent 6 days and 7 nights in Cancun (without children). Originally we wanted to go further away like Hawaii, but with two young children it just seemed like a better idea to stay closer to home. We had never been to Cancun together and it was spectacular! I don't remember the beaches being so pristine and white and the water being such a gorgeous turquoise color. It was so much fun to reconnect with one another, to sleep in, eat slowly and not be on anyone else's time schedule. We realized that not only did we still love each other, but that we still liked one another!

My Little Flower Girl

Avery  Reese was asked by a dear friend of mine to be a flower girl in her wedding. I don't know who was more excited me or her.  She practiced throwing rose petals for weeks prior to the big day. The day of the wedding Avery Reese was so excited! She thoroughly enjoyed the pampering and attention (not sure where she inherited that trait).

S'mores

I recently bought the kids a picnic table to enjoy in the backyard. Well, Avery Reese was so excited about it she asked me to go immediately to the store to buy popsicles so she could eat one outside (because she couldn't do it before we had a picnic table). She is so funny!

Last weekend the weather was so nice and for some reason Brad and I had s'mores on the brain. We then realized what horrible, awful parents we were......we had not introduced our children to the wonderful, delicious, gooeyness of s'mores.

So we did!

My mouth is still watering.....yum!

Roasting our marshmallows on the grill

Hudson was just so excited to roam around the backyard

Avery Reese's first bite
(I love how she closed her eyes to really concentrate on her bite)

Hudson wasn't really into the s'more, he wanted to mow the lawn instead

She decided to go straight for the gooey marshmallows
